Designer's Notes

This home was shaped around the concept of gentle order. The client wanted something light and open, with soft transitions and just enough character to feel inviting without distraction. We responded by using structured forms and neutral palettes, all anchored by a few key gestures.
The arches throughout the home play a central role. Rather than overly ornate, they were kept clean and minimal. These curves guide the flow between spaces and subtly soften the boxy geometry common in apartment layouts.
We kept the colour palette intentionally muted. A mix of off-whites, pale greys, and light wood creates a sense of balance and calm. Black framing in the kitchen and study areas introduces structure and contrast without overwhelming the mood. It helps define zones while still letting natural light pass through.
The kitchen and dining areas were designed for quiet rituals. Compact, clean-lined cabinetry and open space under the counter make daily routines feel effortless. Lighting was chosen to feel architectural rather than decorative. Simple spheres and recessed profiles that blend into the space.
This home is not about maximal expression. It is about clarity, comfort, and subtle rhythm in the everyday.
“We didn’t want something flashy. We were looking for a home that felt clean and peaceful, but still had thoughtful details. The design team understood us from the beginning and created something really special. We love the arches. They give the space a nice softness without being too decorative. And the colour palette is exactly what we imagined: very calming, very natural. Everything feels well-planned. From the kitchen to the study corner, it’s all very usable and not just for show. It really feels like a home built for how we live.”— Clarence & Valerie
