Designer's Notes
A project for

This home was designed with a focus on light, clarity, and lived-in simplicity. The brief was to create a calm, clutter-free space that still felt personal and characterful. We approached the design with a minimalist mindset, but added warmth and softness through light play, texture, and curated objects.
Concrete flooring sets a neutral base, giving the home an industrial calmness that grounds the palette. Built-in ledges double as both display and storage, forming visual lines that guide the eye across the space. We left the walls clean, allowing key features — like sculptural lamps, furniture details, and pops of art — to take the spotlight without feeling overstyled.
Lighting was key to the mood. We used simple globe pendants and diffused daylight to maintain a sense of openness and softness throughout. Glass block elements were introduced to divide space without blocking light, keeping things visually light while creating some spatial definition.
This is a home that invites clarity. It supports quiet focus, slow living, and creative expression through subtle layering and mindful restraint.
“We were looking for something simple but not cold, and this really hit the mark. The design is clean, but there’s warmth in the way the textures and colours come together. The built-in ledges are our favourite part — they’re practical, and also let us show off little pieces that mean something to us. The whole process was thoughtful and smooth. It’s a space we truly enjoy living in every day.”— Wei Lun & Minghui
