Designer's Notes

A project for

This home was designed around the idea of soft minimalism. The client wanted something bright, efficient, and peaceful. Every line, finish, and junction was considered for clarity and comfort, with the aim of creating a space that feels calm and cohesive. We worked with a natural palette of pale oak, off-white walls, and soft grey accents. These tones reflect light and create a sense of openness, especially important for a compact layout. The full-height carpentry blends into the background, making storage disappear visually while providing generous utility. Transitions between spaces were smoothed out using warm textures and subtle curves. The living area opens directly into the kitchen and dining space, allowing natural light to carry across the home. Rounded furniture and soft lighting soften the strong architectural lines and keep the mood gentle throughout. One of the most unique features is the sleeping zone, cleverly tucked into a wall-lined alcove with fluted backing. It feels private without being enclosed, and maintains the continuity of materials seen throughout the rest of the home. This space is proof that simplicity is not empty. It is refined, functional, and deeply intentional.
“We love how clean and calming the space feels. The design is really well thought out, especially the hidden storage and how everything flows. It doesn’t feel small at all, even though the floor area is compact. The carpentry is seamless, and the tones make the whole home feel bright without being stark. We also love how the sleeping area was designed. It feels tucked away, but still connected. It’s the kind of home that helps us slow down. Everything has its place, and the space just works for our daily rhythm.”
