Designer's Notes
A project for

This home was designed to celebrate confidence and character. The brief was clear, the clients wanted a space that reflected a strong personality while still feeling cohesive, refined, and grounded in comfort.
We introduced deep tones and dramatic textures through the use of rich wood finishes, black marble with bold veining, and statement artwork. The palette leans toward earthy warmth, layered with burnt orange, dark walnut, and gold accents. It brings a sense of richness without feeling overdone.
The layout was carefully planned to allow open connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. We used mirrors and built-ins to maximise light and depth, particularly in tighter zones. The study corner was seamlessly integrated into the flow of the home without feeling like an afterthought.
Art plays a starring role here. Sculptures and large-scale paintings add movement and narrative. These elements were chosen not just to decorate the walls, but to give the home a curated, expressive voice.
This space balances strength and comfort. It is layered, liveable, and unapologetically personal.
“We didn’t want the usual white-and-wood minimalist look. We wanted something with depth and presence, something that reflects who we are. The team really brought that vision to life. We love how the darker finishes were balanced with warmth, and how the layout makes everything feel connected and comfortable. The island with the bold marble is the centrepiece of our home now. It’s stylish but still feels very functional and grounded. Our home looks like a boutique suite but still works for daily life. We’re really happy with how everything turned out. It feels exactly like us.”— Daryl & Michelle
