Designer's Notes

This home was designed for quiet sophistication. The brief was to create a space that feels modern and functional, but with an elevated, hotel-like atmosphere. We approached the design with restraint and rhythm, using tone and texture to bring depth without relying on excessive ornamentation. The palette moves between soft greys, warm taupes, and refined blacks. These tones were carefully layered to create zones of visual calm and contrast. Full-height panels, recessed handles, and integrated lighting give the carpentry a seamless feel. Everything was designed to look clean while performing with intention. Stone and metal finishes were introduced sparingly, adding weight and material richness. In the bathrooms and kitchen, we used darker veining and brushed metal fixtures to ground the lightness of the overall palette. Every detail was designed to be tactile and timeless. Spatial flow was important. The layout prioritises clear circulation and functional zones, with the dining and living areas anchored by warm lighting and soft material transitions. Bedrooms continue the same logic, with upholstered bedframes and feature lighting designed for rest and retreat. This is a home that feels composed, intentional, and built to last.
“We wanted something that looked modern and elegant, but not cold. The team really understood how to bring out those subtle luxuries in a way that still feels warm and usable. The materials are beautiful and everything flows really well. We love how the lighting was planned — especially in the kitchen and bathrooms, where the tones make a big difference. It’s a home that feels calming and polished without trying too hard. We’re really glad we made this choice.”
